BMW 850i
The 8 Series debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show in early September 1989. The 8 Series was designed to move beyond the market of the original 6 Series. The 8 Series had substantially improved performance, as well as a far higher purchase price.
- The 850 version designates the V12 engine
- That engine also formed the basis of the S70 V12 found in none other than the McLaren F1
- 850i / 850Ci with the M70 engine: production was 20,072
- But best of all is the way these Super Grand Tourers deliver unwavering power to the road. A blend of exciting rawness and refinement that so many of our modern cars have become immune too, you can feel traces of BMW’s M1 Supercar and historical racing pedigree through the base of the seat and steering wheel
- 0-100km/h in just under 6.8 seconds with zero compromises for comfort.
- Outstanding collectability status from rarity and prices already starting to move - certainly a case of buy now or we can easily see prices of these cars moving beyond reach of many collectors.
This Example
This example has an amazing presence in colour and shape - seen in person it is a mix of Enzo and M1 BMW and with broad hips and quad exhaust, it is a car that simply looks outstanding. Recently detailed, it would not be out of place in any collection.
Beautiful 90s supercar with all the usual features including sun roof and every conceivable option. This car has been part of a large private car collection and is being reluctantly sold to make room for further investments.
- Australian delivered, stamped service books, just completed regular service
- it has been maintained to a high standard including a gearbox rebuild and new valve gear plus new suspension bushings as well as regular services. although the car has not covered many miles over the past decade is has been warmed up and driven for the purpose of keeping the car in good running condition.
- it is not a perfect or pristine example however a good honest car - headliner could do with some attention is maybe the most obvious issue but a very clean original example.
- the Toyo tyres are all new and it will be sold with a roadworthy certificate and 10 months NSW rego
