Buying Process - Buyer Best Practice

www.TheCollectorGarage.com is different from a number of other online auction sites - we charge no "Buyer Premium" at the end of an auction so the price you bid is the price you pay
NOTE - the winning bidder will be charged a 5% deposit up to $1,000 maximum at the end of the auction - THIS IS NON-REFUNDABLE and will be charged to the credit or debit card used to register for the auction. The deposit will come off the settlement amount for final purchase
Additionally and importantly - we offer an escow payment facility option where buyer funds are not released to the Vendor until delivery has occurred.
Bidding is contract to purchase
- Only bid on items you fully intend to purchase - cars are sold as is, where is and if you do not follow through on successful bids you will be banned from the platform in future
- Bidding determines that you have read and accepted the Terms and Conditions
Contact the vendor
- Seller details are on the auction items as is a comments section and we encourage you to reach out and get as much information as possible before bidding - its your money, make sure you know what you are buying !
Inspect
- We encourage all buyers to inspect items they wish to bid on - you can also arrange a pre-purchase inspection with vendors and contribute to the comments section in each auction item for “Hurd intelligence”
Bidding
- Bidding online is simple via the website and you can bid multiple times or set a maximum and the site will bid for you, in minimum increments, up to your maximum.
- Credit card details are required to register for bidding to weed out the tyre kickers
Anti-Snipping - Any bid received within the last 2 minutes will result in the auction being extended by 2 minutes - allowing all buyers access to the bidding process
Payment - The only charge as a buyer for auction service is the $1 joining fee - this is to help validate genuine buyers
Otherwise a 5% deposit (up to $1,000 maximum) is charged only to the winning bidder at the end of teh auction - it is charged against the card used to register for the auction - THIS DEPOSIT IS NON-REFUNDABLE. The balance of teh winning bid (winning bid less deposit) is paid directly to the vendor or at the buyers discretion into our Safer Payment Escrow process and only then released to the Vendor after successful delivery of the vehicle – If delivery doesn’t occur for reasons the Vendor is unable to supply the Lot, the purchase price funds, held in escrow, will be repaid to the Buyer.
Title - Title will transfer when cleared funds are received either by the Vendor or into the www.thecollectorgarage.com escrow account.
Collection - Once cleared funds are received directly to the vendor or by TheCollectorGarage Safer Payment escrow account, the Vendor is responsible for making the car available for collection.
